
Mary-Ellen Stockwell Capasso
Mary-Ellen is admitted to the New York State bar. She is a graduate of Hudson Falls High School, Russell Sage College (B.A., in Criminal Justice and Sociology with a minor in Women’s Studies, magna cum laude) and University at Buffalo School of Law, State University of New York (J.D., magna cum laude). Mary-Ellen is a member of the Warren County, Washington County, Adirondack Women’s and New York State Bar Associations (Business Law, Municipal Law and Real Property Sections). Her practice areas include Business and Corporate Law; Environmental Law; Municipal Law; Real Estate and Land Use; Vehicle and Traffic Matters; as well as Estate Planning and Small Estate Administration.
Mary-Ellen has been representing various municipal clients since being admitted to the bar. She regularly appears in court on code enforcement and dog enforcement matters in many of the Towns we represent. During this time she has gained experience on all facets of municipal law including water district formation; code enforcement matters; municipal acquisition and conveyance of real property; highway law; drafting resolutions, local laws and ordinances on a host of issues; as well as litigation over real property tax assessments.
Mary-Ellen represents clients in commercial and residential real estate, zoning and land use applications, and general estate planning areas. Among other things, she also handles general vehicle and traffic violation matters, as well as various collections matters, landlord tenant matters and contract disputes. In addition, Mrs. Stockwell Capasso serves as the Vice President of the Warren County Bar Foundation and routinely assists in planning events for the Bar Association and Foundation.
